Last month, Volkswagen introduced five new vehicles at the 69th IAA Commercial Vehicles show. They are all Electric and zero emissions.
They are called the I.D. Buzz Cargo, ABT E-Transporter, ABT E Caddy, The Cargo E bike and the Crafter Hymotion.
The highlight of these new vehiclesis probably the I.D. Buss Cargo, the design is mildly reminiscent of the 60s VW buses that are a recnogised shape worldwide however this new concept is a van, not a people carrier. It runs on a lithium ion 1 speed gearbox powerplant.
The payload is 800kg which is sizeable and it will be available with multiple battery sizes depending on usage requirements and budget. The smallest battery, 48kw can be charged to 80% in 15 mins while the biggest battery, 111kw, will take 30 mins to achieve the same result.
Volkswagen say they aim to have this vehicle launched by 2021.
